Mimi was born in Queens, New York and raised in Danbury, Connecticut. She met Art when they were 17 and seniors in the same High School. After marriage and the diversions that life can bring they moved to southeastern Pennsylvania. Mimi began her art school training in 1980 and graduated from Philadelphia College of Art in 1985 with a BFA in painting.
She started showing her work locally in the Philadelphia area in 1986 and also began a career in the conservation of art on paper and library and archival materials. She credits the lucky opportunity to work with paper and books for eventually adding book arts to her art making career.
Mimi's work has been exhibited in Philadelphia, Lancaster, Chester County, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Princeton, NJ; Harbour Island, Bahamas; Baltimore, MD; Denver, CO; and Silver City, NM.
